Weird chest symptoms

by scarygary, Sep 02, 2008 02:53AM
I'm a 25 year old male, non smoker, non drinker, no drugs, work out religiously but ever since I was 17 I've been bothered by the pain in my chest. It gets worst when I eat, especially fatty foods like chicken. I've recently had an MRI, Cat Scan of the Chest, Endoscopy and nothing shows. I've had lung tests came out 100%, I even go a cat scan of my lungs and that came negative of anything. Got my heart checked out and that was fine. I know this pain is coming from my Esophogus and Stomach area somewhere either in the Esophogus or at the connection to the stomach. The pain that I'm experiencing is this weird discomfort in my chest, feels like some tissue is crackling like bones almost, my upper back between and behind my shoulderblades starts burning after sitting for more then 2 minutes without back support on the chair. I play piano and I can't sit more then 5 minutes, I get terrible burning pain that has a crampy twist to it and it vibrates from the front kinda where the esophogus is. I really need help I wish someone would know what this is and can please help me. MY SYMPTOMS ARE: ACID REFLUX, HEARTBURN, CONSTANT CHEST AND BACK PAIN 24/7 DOESN'T GO AWAY. BAD POSTURE, HURTS WHEN I CORRECT IT. GETTING WORST DAY BY DAY BUT SLOWLY, BECOMING MORE AND MORE ALLERGIC TO ALL TYPES OF FOODS, CHEST HURTS AFTER I DO BENCHPRESS CHEST EXERCISES, HUGE ADENOIDS (adenoids) AND TONSILS, SHORTNESS OF BREATH, FEELS LIKE SOMETHING IS PUSHING MY LUNGS AND NOT LETTING ME BREATH IN DEEPLY (FEELS EXTREMELY UNCONFORTABLE) AND DOESN'T GO AWAY. Please Help!

Well, I am definately not a doc but have you considered asking your doctor about costachondritis?  This is the inflammation of the costa cartiledge in your chest.  This can cause very scary breathing discomforts.  Because it is inflammation I would imagine that it could radiate to your back.  There is no cure for this, and often times it flares up without warning and then goes away just as mysteriously.  Your docs can give you anti-inflammatories to help with the discomfort.  The discomfort that you discribed reguarding your esaphogus could be a spasm maybe?????  I read somewhere about something like this but I cant remember where.

It has been quite some time since your post; how are things?
