What can be done for pain after esophagus scope?

I had a scope early this morning.  Everything went well.  I was told to go home and nap and I'd feel OK by afternoon.  WRONG!  My neck and upper chest hurt.  It's painful to swallow and burp.  How long does this last?  I am scheduled to lecture tomorrow and can't believe I'll be better enough to do it.

Turns out I had tonsilitis too.  Antibiodics and the pain is gone!

If this pain continues, or worsens you need to call your Doctor back or go to Urgent Care after hours especially if you still have it tomorrow morning.

you'll be fine I have had 7 scopes. try some honey and a couple of tylenol. the burping is air and normal. The pain could be from te biopsies he probably took or from the scope entering the upper les valve. very common have had discomfort after every scope goes away in a a day or so.
