What causes pain under rib cage on both sides?

I started having sharp pain under my left rib cage last Thursday. It came on suddenly. It was pretty frequent and the pain lasts about 3-5 seconds each time. Now I am getting the pain in my lower left abdomen and under my right rib cage. It is very painful.

Sounds like gastro.
Eat bland foods , keep hydrated and see your g.p if symptoms persist.
