What else could be wrong?

Howdy and thanks for this opportunity. For approx 3 years I've had epigastric symptoms. First noticed stomach contents coming up in certain Yoga positions 3 years ago. Began having night time reflux 1 year ago w/ "stuck in throat" symtpoms. Was scoped showed distal espohageal erosion. Started Nexium 40 q am. Symptoms improved for a few months. Now however I have constant nausea and very profound "stuck" sensation.  It feels as if my stomach contents are constantly present in esophagus and hoarse from acid. My weight was an issue (sudden gain in menopause) but I'm down from a high of 198 to 172. (I'm 5'7") I'll see my gasto MD next week in meantime nas upped Nexium to BID but no improvement.
Of course I'm worried about CA (had breast CA 1998). What is other differential? I'm switched to decaf and don't feel diet is an issue...
Thanks in advance for your response and again thanks for the opportunity to ask these questions.

An obstruction, esophageal stricture, GERD, motility disorders, or hiatal hernia are all possible.

The endoscopy would evaluate for most of these considerations.  You can also consider a 24-hr pH study along with esophageal motility studies, which can evaluate for continuing GERD as well as motility disorders.

Another consideration would be delayed gastric emptying, which can be evaluated with a gastric emptying scan.

These options can be discussed with your GI physician.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
