What is happening to me?

by werok, Oct 04, 2005 12:00AM
I am 37 yo female.  I have recently gotten mad at my doctors for not listening to me and now have appointments with bowel specialist, 2 ultrasounds, and had blood work done. I also will have an ultrasound done on breasts.

I have been suffering in pain that happens around the same time every month... middle month but now has changed to more than just that time.
I noticed i go to the bathroom more when i am in pain... once 4 times per night, and that i have more discharge....as i am very bloated and have pressure.
I asked dr. about my ovaries but she said that wouldnt cause me pain and bloating, alot of bloating.  And relief is achieved when i pass gas. alot of gas like 7 days worth....i used to tap on my belly to releive gas now it just comes.

I have leg pain in my left hip. and pain in my left shoulder... i thought i had hormonal inbalances and this was normal.... (started out like mid month pain).  oddly i happend to get pregnant 9 months ago and had a child... during that time i still was in pain and took fennel seed.  I had not been able to get back to myself after the birth and they diagnosed me with PPD.  I am not depressed.  I am tired yes.  I then was diagnosed with anxiety.  I had an attack very late at night and thought i was dieing.  I am so scared.  They gave me clonazepam.  I refuse to take it. I never had anxiety before the baby.  I am worried....  becasue i feel ill.  I am scared @$#%less.

My pain is on left and right I could dig into just under my belly button and feel striking pain.  I have not very good bowel movements ... they are soft and easy then all of a sudden hard or extremely fast and runny. I have bled after going to the bathroom just slightly as i think it teared some skin.
I also had one so wide and large that it hurt. I have no gallbladder, had that out in 1999. I have had ulcers.  I now have pain in chest. pain in my breasts and the bowel thing i just described.  the breast are hard and heavy and feel like i am pregant but i am not.  i feel sick. nauseated.
i take now evening primrose oil. B6. and calcium as i dont drink milk.  I eat well and some fatty stuff.   but i like my vegies and fruit.

please help me what is going on?  why is it that alot of people on here are taking some form of drug for anxiety and have bowel problems.  what is the connection with hip pain?  i saw that on here as well.  how will i know if it turns into serious cancer. i live in a remote town and these doctors are absolutely ridiculous.  will drinking water help the bowels...   are hormones related. how could i straigten out hormones naturally? what tests could i demand. i am seeing my chiropractor as well.  could a crooked back and hips cause a problem in bowel?

also i have pain in my back,,,, that after i have a bm now it feels like a cold in my back that it is cold.  i want to warm up ... i have had fever and chills in the recent weeks

thanks

The changes in the stool characteristics as well as the loose stools can be signs of irritable bowel syndrome.  However, before settling on the diagnosis, further tests can be considered to ensure there isn't anything more serious going on first.

A colonoscopy would be the most comprehensive test.  If negative, it will be unlikely that cancer is present.

You can consider a CT scan or transvaginal ultrasound to ensure that the pain isn't coming from the ovaries.

If the tests are negative, irritable bowel syndrome can be considered and treatment for this optimized.  Increasing the amount of fiber in the diet, as well as the use of antispasmodic agents, can all be discussed with your personal physician or gastroenterologist.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
