Worried and need reassurance!

Husband had gastroscopy on 23/10/13. Biopsy taken but not got results yet. Gastroscopy showed h pylori gastritis and a presence of excess bile in the stomach. Triple therapy antibiotics prescribed (lansoprazole, amoxi and clarithromycin), he says he feels a lot better, but i'm worried sick. He says he still gets an ache but it comes and goes and is not constant, he says that certain foods seem to make him feel worse, am I right in believing you can eradicate the h pylori but the gastritis takes time to heal?

He is 38, heavy smoker, 4 months teetotal, but was drinking and taking cymbalta without any ppi relief at the time. He's been stressed lately as have I but I wouldn't be so stressed if he hadn't tried to convince me he had cancer!

Hi, mirtazapine can itself cause nausea. For the ulcer or gastritis to heal he needs to follow lifestyle measures in addition to the medications. This is to help heal and for the ulcer to not  recur. He should avoid NSAIDs, quit smoking, eliminate alcohol, avoid caffeinated beverages and reduce stress levels. These measures need to be practiced long term for results. Regards.

Was also getting acid in throat whilst taking cymbalta, takes 30Mg dihydrocodeine x6 per day but is reducing week by week as can cause biliary colic, now off cymbalta acid has stopped, takes gabapentin for nerve pain from st dystonia but general health and immune system good - no drugs, started mirtazepine for depressive symptoms also, just wondering if we have to be patient and wait?
