Yellowy Liquid after Gall Bladder removed?

Back in april of 2007 I had My Gall Bladder removed and instead of the 4 holes I noticed I had 5 holes in my stomach, The surgeon told me my huge stomach was ballooned up from the gas they used to inflate my stomach but its been over a year and I look Pregnant and im a man!! (6'3) My main concern and I went back to discuss this with my surgeon and he rushed me out of his office dennying that I have a problem so im really scared and dont want to be poisened or this turn into cancer.
I Noticed right away after my surgury that My Bowel Movements were Loose at times but my biggest scare is what is causing all this yellowy Liquied to keep coming out of my behind? It comes out on its own not just with a bowel movement, I can be out walking and it will start with my behind getting really Itchy and feels wet, I come home and have to wipe myself 20 times and it looks like a yellow oily substance.
Ive looked up stuff online and read about surgeons accidently cutting Bile tubes during surgury. Could this be the case? andif so how can I get a surgeons opinion as My surgeon wont help me and My doctor has kinda given up also.
Anyone else have this problem? How can I get this checked out??

As soon as I read your comment.  I thought of bile also.  They took your gallbladder out, but maybe you have bile in the ducts.  These doctors do not seem sympathetic to your problem.  I would go see a different physician.  Maybe you need a Proctologist.
Do not try to diagnose yourself.  Make an appointment to see another doctor ASAP.  It sounds odd that the surgeon is not even concerned.
Good Luck

Makes me wonder about the surgeon cause he wont listen to my concern at all, My dr. sent me for another Ultrasound but nothing came up. Hes on a 3month leave of absence so Im really concerned what to do and I dont know if going to a hospital would help cause I could sit there for 6 hours and have them tell me to go see my dr.

You need to see a Gastroenologist for your stomach and bile issue. Hey I too had my gallbladder removed, but this was back in April 2006. I didn't gain weight though, which I thought I might. Just to let you know, I too have the nasty yellow bile that comes out with my stools too - I think that has to do with the gallbladder being removed.

You mentioned that you have the bile in your stooles but my biggest problem is the bile coming out on its own (Lots of it at times)..My concern can this be cancourous,Or harmful to the body. The body must absorb it somewhat.

I don't believe the bile could be cancerous or cause cancer to the colon. The reason why I say that is because I think that the colon is made to handle bile - I could be wrong so don't take my word for it. What I mean is some bile does go through the colon so how can it be harmful to the colon? The esophagus is different, it was NOT made for bile so that is why there is always a concern for erosion - this is only an example of what I am trying to say. Yes I do at times have bile coming out on it's own, but it's not a big of a problem like yours might be. If you can, can you see a gastro doctor for this?

Im going to try to get to a walk in clinic and see if they will send me to a specalist!!
I still think they cut or nicked a Bile duct. Any idea how they would check for that )Ultrasound or something??

by Twilight_Princess, Jan 26, 2009 08:12PM
To: chritters
I think an ultrasound might work on finding a cut or nick, but again, I could be wrong. I wonder if a CT scan would find it though. Do you have a lot of bile coming out? Also, are you on the diarrhea side of things since the gallbladder removal?

I'm right there with you.

Had mine taken out last Tuesday.

I had symptoms like this before I had it removed, but I still am having this.

My BM's have been light brown and when I wipe it's like a yellow/orange. Left achy and bloated.

I'm moving to a low fat diet to try and control it. If I didn't take a lot of fiber, then my Stools are very loose.

Good Luck and keep us up with whats going on.

Im thinking maybe an ultrasound as well, Thats what I had when they discovered it was my Gall bladder,
Jeff you will have that feeling for a little over a week especially the achy part, Is your stomach still puffed out??
How many holes in your stomach?

You guys should ask your dr.s about Chlorestramine. It helps a lot with the Bile in the Poop (Hahha) Its like Medamucil you mix it with Juice and it has helped me on the Diarehha side but with me I get bile coming out without going to the bathroom..
Chris.

Went to the walk in clinic today and The dr. thought it sounded odd that my stomach is still bloated and hard, Also thought Bile problem needs to be addressed, He said the bile wont harm anything inside its just unnerving to me which ya it is big time!!

Hes going to send me to a gastroenterologist for another opinion but he said it could take a month or longer to get in to see him!! (Ohh great)!!!!
So thats where I stand on that Issue!!

Fighting a sinus Infection now and when I take antibiotics I find it really aggravated the bile problem!!

I still got a little heavy feeling in my chest since the surgery. I think from the pain medicine. not sure about that. When I don't take it, it doesn't feel heavy.

I had this bloated/achy feeling before I had the surgery. The fiber is helping my stool and I'm trying to move towards a low fat diet.

My gall bladder had gall stones, but the doc said, before the surgery, that my left side achy/bloated feeling had nothing to do with my gall bladder.

He said if it didn't go away after the surgery then I would, basically, be thrown into the IBS category.

This stuff on my left side started last September. Went away for a little while and then started back up around Christmas

I have no idea what it is. It's almost like I have a slight diarheaa feeling. But it's more of a bloated feeling than anything else.

I find myself always rubbing my side and under my ribs.

Like I said. I don't know.  I know the doc is gonna lay the IBS deal on me Tuesday.

Maybe that's it. I'm curious whether I'm having some kind of allergic reaction to something.

Just kind of weird that it just comes out of nowhere last September and is still bugging me.

Here's something weird for ya. All this started immediately after i started working out with a Ab Lounge.  I did 50 crunches (My first time ever doing them on it) and I haven't been the same since.

I've had MIR's, CT Scan, Colonoscopy, X-rays, etc... All find nothing down there except diverticulosis and they told me that that wouldn't cause my left side mess.

I go back to see my doc on Tuesday. I guess I'll find out more then.

Ab Lounge - No it shouldnt be the reason, Ive been working out too cause Ive been trying to loose this gut, I feel better afterwards but If Im going threw a bout then I stay clear of working out cause as you know you dont want to strain and force something out you dont want too hahaha!!
The Cat Scan is what Found my Gall Bladder problem (So they said).
Let us know what they say on tues jeff!!
Best of Luck!!!

Yeah, I know. I just thought it was a bit weird that all my problems started immediately after I got off that thing.

I did 50 crunches and I had never used it so My whole abdomen was, like, vibrating.

It was the first time, in a long time that I had done crunches of any kind.

About a hour after I did it I started aching on my left side and the rest is history.

For the first 2 weeks I thought it was just a pulled muscle, then I went to the ER and they said it was probably a pulled muscle.

Then it just progressively got worse. Went a couple more times. They did a CT scan and blood work and  said I had diverticulosis, but they couldn't find anything else.

One thing leads to another an here I am.

The ultra sound found my gall bladder. I had a ultra sound a year (dec. 07 ) before and the doc said I had gall stones. I had bad bronchitis and they did a check on everything while I was at the hospital.

But when they did my CT Scans, nothing was every mentioned about my gall bladder.

My main problem is I can't keep from rubbing my left side and under my left ribs. I find myself doing it and not even realizing I'm doing it and I know that's just making it sore in places that it probably wouldn't be sore in.

I'll definitely find out something Tuesday.

Hey Chris!

I'm going to check the pictures in a moment, but what caught my eye was you said you were laid off? OMG! Is everything okay? My husband has worked for a company for 30 years and just this past week they laid off 30 people, he could be next! I'm really worried, so I know what you are going through. If he gets laid off that also means the end of the health insurance for us. I was thinking of going ahead and going to nursing school. I have to do something.

Yeah, we got a lot of snow too! I am just off shore of Lake Ontario - we're talking feet not inches - LOL!

Thats probably why Im having so many problems cause Ive been so stressed being layed off since dec 2008 I go back on feb 9th But Im hurting for money big time totally broke with bills pilled on my fridge that were due yesterday, I work for Ryder Canada we do stuff for General motors and Im sure you know all about their situation..

Wheres your husband work??  Will he get a package at least??

by Twilight_Princess, Feb 03, 2009 01:12PM
To: chritters
He hasn't got laid off yet, BUT I think it's coming and it will come fast. I will tell you in a PM where he works. I just have this bad feeling about it. I mean why did we get a COBRA letter in the mail the other day? We NEVER got this before and it has to do with where he works and the health insurance, so far we are still covered. I need to bump up my appointment for the CT scan and to see my Endo doctor before April because my husband was saying one of the managers said there is no work order in April, so I'm thinking there is no work.
