abdominal aorta

abdominal aorta

Have been reading the amazing posts on upper right abdonimal pain.  I did see one I can't locate again and it is of concern.  This comment mentioned the possibility of an abdominal aorta ?  Only one person mentioned this and am wondering if others have had a doctor suggest checking for it.

The abdominal aorta runs down 'almost' the center of the body to enter the abdomen behind the xiphoid process. In most, it then runs slightly to the left of midline - you can typically find the pulse right near the bellybutton (slightly above) and slightly to the left.

Upper right abdominal pain can have many causes, but it's typically not implicated in URQ pain/discomfort.
