abdominal pain after bowel movements

I was wondering why do I have sever pain and cramping in my abdoman and lower abdoman after a bowel movement.It happens every time I have a bowel movement I be in intense pain for hours.I get constipated if I don't use a stool softner, and I feel as if I'm about to pass out and I get very nauseated.My doctor has scheduled me a colonoscopy but it's weeeks away.I was wondering what could be the problem.
