acid reflux / gall bladder surgery (surgical clips)

had gall bladder removed 5 yrs ago, still having lots of pain where gall bladder used to be, just found out that there are surgical clips inside of me.  are these clips suppose to be there and can this be the cause of all the pain, can they be removed .....if so what would happen when removed

If you're having pain similar to a gallbladder attack at times, forget the idea of the clips and ask your doc to check out your common bile duct. You could request an MRCP which is non-invasive. Changes can occur in the CBD that can mimic an attack. And people can and do 'grow' stones or sludge even when the GB is gone.

You also might want to check to see if you have fewer problems if you follow a low fat diet. Many find they're unable to process fats the way they did after surgery and a low fat diet can help.
