acid reflux & spasms

I am a 69 yr. old female---have had two Nissen Fundoplacation Surgeries---2004-------and 2006.  I have been taking Nexium twice daily for 6 yrs.  Still have acid reflux----have my bed raised and am eating like I'm supposed to.  Wake up almost every morning with 'spasms' that really hurt.  I drink Mylanta and that stops the pain.  What-----if anything---can be done about this???????????????  I am miserable most of the time.

I would quit taking the Nexium and ask your doctor about trying something else. I sufferered from severe GERD several years ago and found that the only thing that worked for me was Tagamet. I was on Nexium for 18 months with no relief from the spasms.  I'd talk to your doctor about switching.
