acid reflux

by lindyann, Sep 21, 2008 11:49AM
I had acid reflux on and off ,for about three months. The last time ,about a month and a half ago. I have no more reflux , but my throat kept burning and hurting. I went to the doctor, and was told to take clariton 10mg. at night , before bedtime, and  prilosec 20mg. in the morning. I have taken both for 4 days and have no symptoms now. Should I keep taking them? I;ve also changed my eating habits and dont eat right before bedtime, and dont eat spicy foods.

Yes, you should keep on taking the meds. Ask the doctor when it would be okay for you to stop the meds.

Hi, I would agree.  Keep taking the meds.  I was diagnosed with a type of acid reflux called laryngopharyngeal reflux.  Look this up as it effects the throat and voice box.  Sounds like that might be what you have.
