after gall bladder pain

Hi,
I had my gall bladder out a week before Christmas,..It went fairly well,..but I  have had some bouts of pain,..I went back for my follow up apt. the other day, and they put me on antibiotics, because I have infection in two of the incision wounds,..Tonight, I am in a lot of pain, but not from that, it is located where the gall bladder would be,..I just took one of the few pain pills I have left, and am worried if this is normal, or if something is really wrong? It feels like being stabbed in the front, where your gallbladder would be, over and over, but kind of like
i pulled something or something,..I don't believe I have done anything to strenuous, so, I don't know??? I just know I am hurting and wondering how normal this kind of thing is? Also wondering if it could be infection internal as well???I am getting really worried,..If you have any info on anything like this, I would appreciate idea's of what it may be,..The Dr. just said if the skin/ incisions got worse to call him,..???
Thanks!

I remember this kind of pain and discomfort after my gallbladder surgery and a C-Section.  It is normal to have this after surgery while the muscles and whatnot are repairing and healing.  It can be a long road recovering from surgery, so try to take it easy and make sure you follow up with your doctor.  I agree with what CalGal said too, as your body does need time to figure out how to process food without the use of your gallbladder.  I have IBS that really went into overtime after my gallbladder was removed, and my diet has a LOT to do with it.

Call your doc and report what's going on. You may also want to start following a low fat diet if you haven't been doing so already. Many people have trouble processing fats after this surgery. It's possible the pain you're feeling may be due to the intake of fats and the biliary's system trying to handle them.
