after gallbladder surgery

lsv
I had my gallbladder removed 3 weeks ago today laprascopically.  I had my post-op checkup just yesterday.  Until Sunday I have been feeling just fine.  Just an occasional ouch when I turn the wrong way.  I have been having unbelievable gas? back pains on my right side.  It takes my breath away.  I have tried to take gas-x, xantac 150. So far no relieve.  Is this related to the gallbladder surgery?  I mentioned it to the surgeon yesterday I thought maybe I had pulled a muscle but it got worse in the middle night. Any suggestions?????

Time to take digestive enzymes with your meals.....mine has ox bile in the mixture to help with what the gallbladder use to do.
I forgot to take it last night with dinner and suffered for it. Will not forget to take it again!

Then I am going to the store and gonna get me some Gas-X..I certainly don't want to wake up in the middle of the night and not have anything for it.

Hope you are doing better!

I had my gallbladder removed on March 5.  I have had a problem with gas too.  Last night the pain was really severe, but I realize that I ate something that I should not have.  Gas-X has helped some, but not much relief.

I had mine removed on march31st. No diarrehea, doing just fine.  but now that you mentioned it I notice I have gas too.  I am not worrying myself over it. I have already had my post op, and surgeon says everything is going as planned...not one hitch.  I did mention the gas, and NO I am not taking anything for it.  He said that sometimes when we eat something we are not supposed to..then try not eating that certain food and see if that helps.  It has for me..but on occasion I still have some gas.  I am not worried about as long as I can function and not going through diarrehea for the rest of my life.  What kind of diet are you following?  My surgeon also said most people after having their GB taken out, go back to eating all the fatty foods that got them there in the 1st place. I am still on low fat diet...but I am going to be honest...I cheat and also just trying to test my body on what it can handle and vice versa.

let me know how you are doing and what you might have been told yesterday when you had your post-op.

SORRY FOR ALL THE SPELLING ERRORS! : )
