I have similar problems my self but I haven't been for tests yet not till july. All I can say is, ask your doctor about, ulcers, diverticulitis, diverticula disease, diveticulosis, and hiatus hernia. there could be more, but im no doctor. and if you are not happy with your doctor, try to find a doctor that will listen closely to all your symptoms and test for every thing that has similar symptoms. I really do hope you come to a conclusion about your health problems. Goodluck. Safron
I've read again your first post. Your main problems seem to be acid reflux and gas.
I'm not sure about reflux. Protonix should only help and not cause all the problems. There are two main reasons for reflux: excess acid, or anatomic change in your stomach, which allows the leak of acid upwards into esophagus. So, for reflux, you can have barium x-ray to see how that contrast is moving, is it going backwards...This investigation is easier than endoscopy. If you feel the pain in the stomach (in the middle, below the breast bone, and especially after the meal), it could be peptic ulcer.
But this doesn't explain gas.
If you're lactose intolerant, then lactose is not absorbed in the small intestine, but travels into a colon, where bacteria "eat" them and produce a lot of gas. This can be tested with a breath test, where gases are measured. Lactose intolerance is a sign of a small intestinal disease, not gastric or colonic disease.
So, you have two tests before endoscopy.
thanks boron..i really apreciatte your message...you know i'm not the only one with this problem...i was reading some people in this forum..but they are not here anymore...the last one was JH but his last post was in 2002..i gonna copy and paste for ya what he wrote

If you have been on the antibiotic treatemnt for H pylori,
you may experience increased acid reflux, which is unfortunate
side effect of the treatment. Your stomach adjust acid level
with H pylori so that when the bug is erradicated, the acid level
could shoot up resulting in more frequent hearburn.
I went through the treatment myself about a year and seven months
ago. And I had horrible experience with the side effects of
the treatment. All of the sudden, I started to get hearburn, which I never had in my life. The hearburn lasted good six months. My stomach lining was damaged terribly by the antibiotics and gastritis was quite severe for about a year and
three months. I had endoscopy done three times in a year and
seven months: last one just last month. Last endoscopy showed
healed stomach lining and I no longer feel stomach pain too much
as long as I have careful with the diet. I am no longer on
PPI drugs although I was on the drugs for about seven months last year.
I think antibiotics and PPI drugs also ruined my intestinal flora. antibiotics may have also irritated my intestinal lining as well. I am still suffering from very very loud water gurggling sound around my belly buttom and terrible problem with digestion of food. I already had ultrasound test and small bowel series along with blood, urine, and stool test which came back normal but I may have problem with my large bowel and may
need colonscopy.
I am only 32 now and was only 30 when I took the antibiotics and
don't think I should be in this much problem with my health.
WHAT DO YOU THINK BORON
THAT'S WHY I'M WORRIED...i really want to get a solution..today i went to my doctor to get a refferall to other gastro doctor to get other endoscopy...cause i'm really sick of this funny sensation in my belly
thanks for your answer and advices

A lot of gas is certainly from bacteria.
It's posible you have SIBO - small intestinal bacterial overgrowth. It means overgrowth of normal bacteria. You can't treat this with probiotics, which are only additional bacteria. You need a breath test for SIBO.
The other possibility is Clostridium difficile (or other bacteria) overgrowth in the colon. Cl. diff. may be confirmed by the stool test.
Candida overgrowth is also possible. Candida is often resident in a healthy colon, so a positive stool test for candida doesn't mean, that you have candida overgrowth. Only reliable diagnosis of candida overgrowth is colonoscopy with biopsy, which may show that candida has invaded the colon wall.

It's possible that bacterial or candida overgrowth is causing lactose intolerance, which in this case would be only temporary.
