almost 3 weeks post op

Hi -- thanks everyone for your posts -- they have been helpful!  However, nobody seemed to write about my problem.  In the hospital, I gradually went from a clear liquid diet to a full liquid diet.  At home, I continued this for 6 days -- during that time, I had loose, runny stools.  I was then instructed to go on to a "soft" diet -- no fiber.  Well, 4 days into that diet, I stopped having bowel movements, yet still feel like my stomach is distended.  I see the doctor tomorrow, but wanted to post here to see if this is unusual.  I think my doctor will put me on a regular, maybe high fiber, diet starting tomorrow.  I just hope to have movement soon!

Thanks for any help you can give.

I had a colon resection July 29, 2010..............and had one foot removed and the pathology was benign which was great news.  I was having normal bodily functions post op. until I ate fiber and everything came to a halt.  Constipation even with Milk of Magnisa and fleet enema.  So I guess I have to baby what I eat as my bowel is still asleep.  Any suggestions.
