alternative treatment for non functioning gall bladder?

alternative treatment for non functioning gall bladder?

I had upper right quadrant pain and had an ultrasound that showed no signs of gallstones. Then the symptoms got worse and I had HIDA Scan which showed a ejection fraction rate of 5%. Is surgery the only option. Do these things get better on there own ever? are there ever any alternative treatments. I am on a lowfat diet already.

HI.  I had the same issue and had the surgery 2 weeks ago. The surgeon told me that gallbladder had small stones and scarring so hence the issues and no show on ultrasound.  Things going well except I think last 24 hours I pulled a muscle near the incision so am uncomfortable.  But I have been able to eat and have had no issues like I had pre surgery.  I am also typical low fat eater and in good shape etc.  My only food that is still difficult is dairy so I still to no fat milk.  Sometimes I still get heartburn but I had that long before surgery so i just take prevacid or Zegarid for that.
