amlodipine

hid
I was just prescribed amlodipine for my gastritis how ever I can't seem to find any info about it being helpful for that. All the info I have found is about blood pressure. Is this a common prescription? Should I be concerned if I already have low blood pressure?

It's not going to help the gastritis. Didn't your doc prescribe anything else? And didn't he/she suggest a GERD diet? If not, you may want to check on GERD 'foods' at www.gicare.com. And you may want to recheck with your doc about what to do to tamp down the acid, if that's what is causing the gastritis. Have you been checked for H. pylori? If you haven't, you may want to do so.

yes when I eat between my ribs. But I don't feel like it would be helping the underlining problem of gastritis.

Are you having chest pain related to the gastritis? This medication can be used for that purpose.
