anal pain and bleeding

by jcteamx, Jul 09, 2005 12:00AM
I am a 40 year old male in pretty good shape no Wight loss or anything like that.

My problem started about 8-9 weeks I had a large bowl movement ( felt like giving birth)
And I felt a very bad pain then some bleeding ( anal rip I guess ) it took 4 – 5 day for the bleeding  to stop fully  but since then I have had  different  symptoms burning, itching ,pain, some blood but when I bleed it feels like I have bits in my stool or it is passing through bits,

My wife suggested putting some Vaseline on my finger and inserting it in my anus to relive some irritation  this I did but  shortly after I had some very bad pain in my anus.

i have been to the doctors and had a D R E which he said felt normal  but my anus was very red he give some proctosedyl also some cream as I had a fungi infection around my anus not up to it just round the outside this as cleared now.

I have been back to the doctors again he had a very good look at the ouside and said he could see a small rip at the top of my anus ( scrotal top)  he did not do another dre as it would hurt and I am going for a flex sigi in two weeks. He give me some cream.
in the last two day I had a bowl movement which felt like passing glass but I have had more bleeding than normal i.e. normal a bit of blood on toilet paper
The last two times  last part of my stool was covered  with blood.

Will this be an anal rip and with it not healing  will it need surgery ????

One consideration would be an anal fissure.  This typically leads to the tearing-type pain that you are describing.

There are various approaches to treating this condition.  This can include topical nitroglycerin cream, calcium channel blockers, or the injection of botulinum toxin into the anal sphincter.

You may want to be referred to a colorectal surgeon to evaluate for the fissure and to discuss these treatment options.

If a fissure isn't present, a flexible sigmoidoscopy can be consider for further evaluation.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.

PS
I have had a bowl movement today of normal size with no pain or blood ether on my stool or toilet paper, but I do have some discomfort ie irritation bity sensation in anus.

I also forgot to mention I have had a wired sensation in my groin for the last 2 weeks
Were your leg and body meet both sides no lumps or bumps but a pressure sensation when sitting Like your underwear was pulling tight across these areas.
