Dyskinesia(EF 17%) and had my gallbladder out 4 weeks ago. So far, I have not had any problems.
I also suffered from nausea, bloating, upper right-sided abdominal pain, gas, and severe gallbladder spasms whenever I ate. It felt as though I had a baseball sitting in the upper right side of my stomach. All symptoms have gone away except the bloating, but it's going away slowly. I'd been on heavy doses of antibiotics before and after my gallbladder removal, so I'm sure that's part of it.
I definitely have more energy since the surgery, although my surgeon said it would take at least 4-6 months to get all of my energy back. But the Biliary Dyskinesia was draining me. Most days I didn't feel like getting out of bed.
I hope everything works out well with your surgery.
I know exactly how you feel...I also have been diagnosed with the samething and they are wAnting to do surgery, but I am trying my best to get out of it. They say I have minimal contraction with ejection fraction estimated at 6.26%. Yours is 23% if it's the samething, that' s a lot higher than mine. I am hoping to soften my gallstones and then pass them....I understand this is possible and have been looking int it. Like you I do not want to lose my organ if I don't need to. I am trying not to eat any fats and just a overall good vegetarian diet. I am going to do some more research and see what I can learn.....it's hard to get info. from doctors, they just want to operate.
Coba, you may not find to many people on a healh board who have had good outcomes. They're out enjoying their lives and not posting to a board trying to figure out what they can to to gry to feel better. I hope you get some good responses, but you might want to akd around work or in your neighborhood to find out who has had a GB operation and is doing well.
I am having surgery this friday because of Bilary Dyskinesia(EF 45%). Take it from someone who has put off surgery for about a year now, do it and get it done. The type of pain that it will turn into isn't worth waiting. I don't have insurance and I waited thinking that I could handle a little fatigue and nausea just fine.
Well, I have lost 36lbs because I can't eat anything. I eat the wrong thing and I'm in such excruciating pain that I have to take demeral to get rid of. You're also talking to a person who stopped using pain medication 3 days after my c-section because I could handle the pain I had, except when I went to bed, just to put things in perspective. I have a very high pain threshold. Not only that, but the doctors put me on a special zero fat, low sodium diet to help releive my symptoms. This worked well for awhile but now I'm slowly getting my heart burn back after eating certain foods, like now i've had to cut out pasta sauce because it's bothering me.
It's taken me almost a year to even see the doctor about the symptoms I've had, and since I saw them in October, it's taken me nearly 4 and 1/2 months to decide to take it out. I have spoken to numerous people who have had theirs out and I have a great doctor who has explained a lot to me.
According to both I have gotten the same answers which have been reasonable. Including information from my sister, she had hers out from biliary dysfunction not due to dyskenesis. She had gall stones wheres I have hyperdyskenesia. Everyone is a little different, but what I expect based on what I've been told by my doctor is that most of my symptoms will be relieved. However, I may still have diarhea (diarrhea) or nausea after eating meals that are very heavy in fat, but the pain will subside. Also, due to the degenerative properties of acid, a lot of people still suffer from heart burn for a time after surgery. In my sisters case, it went subsided right away.
