Thanx in advance for any knowledge. I had removal of ascending colon (lap assist) 5 weeks ago & have recovered well (still sore) but back to my exercise & fitness routine. I function exactly like I did before (BM's & all) & would not know anything is "missing" if I had no scarring or soreness. Question: Does my digestion take place in the same way it did when I had an ascending colon? I think I understood that the ascending colon removes water before waste travels on - so now what happens? Has my metabolism changed? I lost a few pounds (from 92 to 87) will I gain that back? That's only 5 pounds but it's an important 5 pounds to me - I didn't need to lose it - Five weeks later I have not gained it back - will I in the future?
