aspiration ASAP

i am afraid of aspiration into the lungs due to my Acid Peptic Stricture.  how will i knowif i expirence aspiration into the lungs.  i think it just happened.  i can not explain the sensation i felt to make me beileve that aspiration happened. i didnt cough or anything but it felt as if liquid went into my lungs.  i was laying down to go to sleep then it happened.  how will i know if i have experienced aspiration into the lungs. thanks

I am by no means a Dr. but my daughter used to have this happen and it would be violent coughing as if an asthma attack if it was significant am't into lungs .. if it was micro-aspiration it was more subtle and turned into asthma but you can also run a low grade to high grade fever with it.

This same daughter used to also get the reflux coming up and her airway would close off to prevent the aspiration and that, in itself, caused a sensation of not breathing for a few seconds and then coughing.
