b12 injections

b12 injections

I have been diagnosed with b12 deficiency. I had a loading dose of 6 injections twice weekly and felt a remarkable difference. Two weeks passed after my loading dose finished and I started to get the fatigue symptoms back and was quite down about this as I spent a long time ill before getting a diagnoses so when I felt better it was like a miracle to me.
I went back to the GP and he has given me another injection, within 4 hours I felt fine again.
Can you please tell me if you can have too much b12 injected or is it ok.
I was thinking of asking him if I could have them more often and push the weeks out rather then wait until I feel ill again.

I have had monthly injections of B12 for some 20 yrs, due to scarring of my terminal ileum, Crohn's disease. Just recently my B12 was way too high, so my GP has stopped the injections until the level returns to normal. Make sure you have monthly blood tests to check the level. Why are you being prescribed B12? Just curious.

Liz.
