belching relieves pressure

belching relieves pressure

Hope you can answer my dilemma.  I guess I have gastroesophogeal reflux.  Frequently after eating I feel as though there is a kink between my esophagus and stomach (fundus, I think).  I am very uncomfortable.  Anything tight aggravates it.  Lying down aggravates it.  At times if I bend over or move a certain way I actually belch with stomach contents back into my mouth.  I have not lost any weight.  I am in no pain just discomfort.  Went to a gastroenterologist and had an upper endoscopy with dilation.  EVERYTHING looked fine.  No symptoms of gerd, no erosions, ulcerations, etc.  I was told the dilation did not seem to make any difference.  I am still very uncomfortable at times.  I try to eat no later than 5 p.m.  I do not eat heavy, fatty foods.  I had lunch today at 1 and still am uncomfortable at 7 p.m.  Belching feels good like it releases some of the pressure.  Sometimes a really carbonated beverage helps too.  What else could it be?  Should I go back to the GI doctor.  After a totally normal upper endoscopy I felt he was somewhat condescending to my complaints but something is wrong.  Thanks.

Have you thought about food allergies/intolerance's some food or even additive may be causing the problem.

I'm have the same kind of think happen to me. I do have food intolerance's I found out after a allergies skin test. You may not have one of the commen or more serious issues like gerd but maybe some thing you are eating or come incontact with is making you feel yuck.

it may just be caused by stress.

Thanks for the comment.  Actually after reading more posts, I think my problem is like Sickboy's....I have never had any type of stomach issues until about a year ago I started a ppi (omeprazole) because my doctor said ANYone who states aspirin (even low dose like me should be on a PPI) so dumb that I am I started the PPI.  Now I have to slowly get off of it and see if my stomach returns to normal.  As far as stress, the only stress I feel is dealing with the medical profession.  Diet is good.  Been checked for celiac and no problems.  Eat very little grains, and carbs.  I havnt noticed any particular inciting event except possibly eating too much (my BMI is 23 and I dont smoke...exercise regularly and very active).  Always have had a "healthy" appetite so now will try to eat smaller meals and space them out some.  Also will try to stay upright for a couple of hours after eating.  Really seems somewhat positional to some extent.
