I HAVE HAD ABNORMAL LIVER FUNCTION TESTS FOR THE PAST 2 YEARS.
I HAD MY GALLBLADDER REMOVED 1 YEAR AGO. I AM STILL SUFFERING AND HAVE RECENTLY HAD AN ULTRASOUND SCAN AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT I HAVE A BILE DUCT THAT IS DILATED TO 1CM.
DOES ANYONE OUT THERE HAVE ANY IDEAS AS TO WHY THIS WOULD HAPPEN OR WHAT CAUSES IT TO HAPPEN AS BECAUSE MY ILLNESS IS LONG TERM THE HOSPITAL WON'T SEE ME TILL MAY2002.
ANY COMMENTS WOULD BE GRATEFULLY RECEIVED.

I HAVE READ ABOUT A DISEASE CALLED PBC - PRIMARY BILLIARY CIRRHOSIS. QUITE A LOT OF THE SYMPTOMS ARE SIMILAR.
ALSO ON MY SCAN RESULTS THE WORD HEPATIS CAME UP DO YOU KNOW WHETHER THIS IS ANYTHING TO DO WITH HEPITITUS.
ANY COMMENTS WOULD BE HELPFUL. IT IS COMFORTING TO KNOW THAT I AM NOT ALONE WITH THIS.
Me too, I think I have an overproduktion of bile duct. If I don't take questan 2-3 packs a day; I will get diarrhea with mucus 8-10 times pr day. Me GI can't find out why.
I can tell you, that in fact I have an hepatitis c, but they don't think the too things are conected, because my liver is doing very well, and that the virus so faw has caused only a mimimal destruction.
But for you Pammy; you should be testet for hep a, b and c; and autoimmune heptitis. It can be done with only one blood test. Good luck to you
