I am not a surgeon, so my insight into this question is limited.

Hiatal hernia repair
Reflux nephropathy
Vesicoureteral reflux that is not improved with medical therapy (i.e.
Ursodiol, Sucralfate), then the Roux-en-y surgery is considered for more definitive treatment of bile acid reflux. There is the usual complications of this surgery, including infection and bleeding. The success rate of the procedure ranges between 50 and 90 percent. This rate is decreased in those with gastroparesis.
I would discuss this option with your personal physician or surgeon.
Followup with your personal physician is essential.

I have gastroparesis, IBS, and reflux disease.
After the pyloroplasty I am having constant sromach spasms
and nausea. No medicines seem to help. The Questran helps
but it makes me so nauseous. I can't take it.
Has anyone had a roux-en-y loop surgery? and does it work?
and what are some of the side effects?
