black stools

Does anyone know if an excess of grape juice can cause your stools to turn black.  I drank two containers of grape juice on Thurs. and Fri. and on Sat and again this morning my stools were black.  I had a colonoscopy exactly 1 year ago today so I don't beleive anything is wrong was just wondering if it could be attributed to the grape juice.

It might be possible.  I know that Pepto Bismol can cause your tongue and stools to turn black and it's only temporary.

I don't think that would cause it, but the only way to find out is to wait a few days. If your stools are still black you should see your doctor. Black stools can be caused by bleeding in the upper digestive tract. It doesn't have to be a very bad thing, so don't freak out!

Pretty much anything with bismuth can make your stools look black. Never heard of the tongue turning black though.
