blokage of esophagus

what causes a persn to start having a problem with their esophages? i ate a small piece of steak and thought i had it chewed good and it got hung and really hurt me bad i was diagoned when i went to the hospital with chronis esophageal blockage. i had had a similiar episode about thre hours after i ate one day three days prior to this.

Same kind of question...

I have been writing mine off due to either Gerd, heartburn or some other problem due to too much anti-inflamatories.  The last time, my doc told me my esophages is "raw" and prescribed anti-acids.  I still get a "knot in the throught" feeling most of the time and swallowing pills is a real mission...
