blood in stool.

I am a 19 year old male.

a month ago i was given septra ds for a staph infection. two weeks later i felt better, for a few days before feeling ill again. they put me back on septra ds and this time ihad an allergic reaction.

for the past 2 weeks i have had cold feet and fatigue. eating also irritated my stomach.

than even drinking water became difficult, with an increase in flatulence. and my docter perscribed me prevacid for acid-reflux.

since than i have been able to eat a little, but notice that my tongue is white, and i still have excessive flatulence along with abdominal discomfort after eating and before making stool. my feet are still cold, and today i noticed blood in my stool, followed by a small stool with mucus and blood a few hours later. i am also very grogy now, and see stars when i stand up and walk.

does anyone have any advice or know whats wrong?

Don't eat anything heavy while your stomach is hurting, stick to soups, Jello, ect.  See a local Gastroenterologist immediately.

blood in stool is a symptom you have to see your doctor and urgently.  the other bowel symptoms could be celiac disease.   the white tongue is thrush from antibiotics, tell your doctor and in the mean time eat yogurt.

Gastroenteritis.  Blood in stool you're supposed to contact your doctor, but while you're waiting for treatment to kick in, you could try a probiotic as well.  Go to any GNC and/or Vitamin World store and ask.  It contains "good" bacteria to populate your colon.  The antibiotics would have killed those off.

Hello, Stomachpainguy - Since you are losing blood in your stool you are more than likely anemic.  This would also be the cause for seeing stars upon standing & feeling weak when walking up stairs...  Also, eat more roughage, this will keep you more regular & help w/ the mucus in your stool too - plus it'll give you a boost in your energy level.  I Good luck!
