Hi i am 21 year old male and i am a 1st year medical student...I dont know if i have got IBS or not because i have never been diagnosed with the same whenever i went to my doctor regarding the problem. I am on the verge of failing my University because of this embarrasment caused due to wierd noises from the left anteriorAnterior cruciate ligament (acl) injury Anterior knee pain Anterior vaginal wall repair side of my abdomen. These noises are heard clearly in the quietness of the lecture hall and i have to start turning pages or something in order to minimise this noise...My problem is getting out of controlControl Control rx. I dont feel like going to lectures or even worse..tutorials where there are only 10 people and relatively more quieter than lecture halls. The thing is this problem has gone worse since i have started noticing this sounds. I cant even concentrate on my lectures because i am constantly on a look out for when its gonna make the noise..CAN SOMEBODY HELP coz i dont want to give up my uni..i have struggled a lot to get admisson in med schoolPreschooler development Preschooler test Preschooler test or procedure preparation School age child development School age test or procedure preparation School-age children development and certainly dont want to give up my ambition just coz of this stupid borborygmi noises.
Also consider trying some probiotics - they might help. Decent brands are Culturelle, Digestive Advantage-IBS, FloraQ and a few others. But those are the ones I know are effectiveEffective strength cough syrup across a broad range of people.
i suffer from borborygmi myself, i discovered that some causes were lactose, acid food, some acid drink with gas like coke, and excess of fruit juices like apple juice and some vegetables like cabbage.
i have some solutions : drink soda, eat fiber (all bran) regularly, a cup of alcohol with high percentage (40%) provide releaf too
My doctor says to reduce fiber intake.
I've read that drinking warm soda, such as 7-up or ginger ale, helps. You also recommend drinking soda, but that contradicts what you said about acid drinks, such as Coke, being a cause.
What's your response?
I'm in the same boat as you. I go to uni and suffer the same in tutorials and lectures - it's horrible in the dead silence of the rooms so I know how you feel. No idea why it's started up because my diet has stayed about constant. For me the growls and churning and gurgles only come in the mornings and seem to pass after an hour and then I'm fine for the rest of the day so I only have to dread mornings...
In my general research pro-biotics have come up as a good aid for digestion. High fibre foods are also good for digestion, but there's also that contradiction that you should avoid them too....
I've been having pro-biotic yogurt but dairy is something to supposedly avoid also..
A teaspoon of olive oil has also been suggested for borborygmi and I tried it today but still came up with the noises. But maybe it would take a while for the olive oil to work...now the noises have passed (i think) but not sure if it would have passed anyway whether or not I had the olive oil. But it's worth to try it out.
Trial and error I guess is the only thing you can do which is what I'm trying to do. I'll let you know if I find anything that works.
