- think positive!! - how many times do you go to the toilet to do a #1?? Well now you will be doing a #2 and a #1 at the same time. Also you will never again suffer constipation.
- modify your diet to include lots of fibre such as pulversied fresh vegetablesVegetable laxative to which bran has been added. Also pulverised fresh fruit to which bran has been added. Make home made muesli (soak organic oats + bran in milk and add grated fruit/nuts - it looks like wet cement but it tasts OK). No junk food, no white bread, no colas etc. Only brown wholemeal organic bread etc. Oh - and do have the odd treat with a portion of Swiss chocolate...
My theory is that this high fibre diet causes your motions to become more muddy/sludgy. A bit like throwing sawdust on a liquid spillage on the kitchen floor in order to soak up the liquid and make it easier to clean up.
I underwent a total colectomy just over five years ago and one of the consequences is increased toilet visits. 3-4 (sometimes more especially just after the surgery) per day is typical in my opinion - this is (I think) because one of the the colon's functions is to hold water which now passes through the shortened intestines and causes your motions to be more liquid.
