I have had a problem with constipation which has been coming on for the past 6 months. During this time I have moved from one city to another. Completly changed my lifestyle- I delivered papers for 17 years which meant getting up through the night and sleeping 4-6 hrs a day. Now I sleep 8 or more hours a night, and help teach a room full of 6 and 7 yr olds at my children's school. I by the way am very happy but I know that's a huge change. Also my father passed away last month. I tend to keep my feelings all inside, just my personality. After dad died I noticed that I hadn't gone to the bathroom in over 2 weeks! I saw a doctor who told me the completly clean myself out and start using miralax 2 times daily for a week and then backing off for another week until I don't have to use it anymore. She said to give it a month. Well I stopped using Miralax after not having any results the first week and began to use "Natural Calm" given to me by my mother who swears by it. It works for me but I noticed that the main ingredient is Magnesium. I think this is the same thing that I bought to begin with for a laxitive. My month is up on Saturday, and I really hate to get a colonoscopy.Should I give Miralax another try?? Do you think it could just be stress?? I recieved my Dad's ashes on my birthday this past week, that sure didn't help me.
ive been having a similar problem for a while now, i havent gone as long as you though not going for two weeks! ill go about 3 or 4 days at a time, ive been put on miralax as well, it didnt seem to help me, ive been using benefiber lately which seemed to help at first but now im back where i started, i cant decide if i should go back to miralax and give that a try again.
