breathing problems

I am 32 yr old male and since last sept I have not felt 100%.I was diagnoised with gastritis of my duodenum.I get a lot of heartburn which I can put up with but with that I get heart palpitations and tightening of my chest and throat and difficulty breathing which scares me.I don't smoke and drink very little,6'2 and 14 stone.I've had every test possible including a stress test but am convinced there is something wrong with my heart even the though the results are negative. My neck vein throbs big time all day which never used happen to me.I have read about congestive heart failure and feel I have it as I have all the symptoms.Back in Sept, I used get the palpitations where my heart used beat as fast as it could go without I doing anything and I was almost fainting with it.Now it's just like it skips a beat.I'm familiar with GERD and just wonder if it has any connection with my palp's.Please tell me if a stress test would show up something no matter how small.   sorry for being such a baby but i am worried
many thanks

I went for about 3 years with heart palpitations.  Checked out by my PCP and Cardiologist.  All test came back normal.  Finally developed pressure under my lower left ribs.  After insisting that something was wrong - I was sent for a CT scan.  Results were Splenomegaly (enlarged spleen).  We still are not 100% for sure what the disorder is - but in the red cell.  My point is, insist that you keep having test until you get some results. Good luck!

..ahem as I was saying...

I would get a CT scan of the abdomen and neck (also palpitate the neck lymph nodes), CBC.
As was mentioned before, an enlarged spleen can cause this.
You want to rule out any possibility of lymphoma (Hodgkins).
