calcium hydroxide burns

by zaras, Oct 15, 2008 06:49PM
Hello,
my daughter 22 months at the time and I ,  ingested water contaminated with calcium hydroxide last year ,march 2007.I had stomach burns, gastritus over 1 year, skin, mouth ,lips and throat burns. My daughter had diarrhea for nearly 12 months, lip ,mouth and throat burns.
We had barium meal swallow tests 4 months later and they saw no strictures.I still have reflux and burning in  my throat and hoarseness.
My daughter, now 3, has hoarseness too.Her stomach and bowels have cleared up.
Can you think of any longterm effects to this situation?
Has anyone any experience with this chemical and its damage long term and after longterm use..The powder was breaking away periodically in the water pipes and reburning us over the time.
At the time we did not know of the seriousness or what was in the pipes. We have now moved out. Thank you, a worried sore Mum.
