chest pain after endoscopy

chest pain after endoscopy

I had an endoscopy performed yesterday. I was fine until about four hours later, then I started having chest pain and feel very gassy. And also my throat and back are sore. I have called the doc and was told to take tylenol and if the pain gets worse, go to the er. How many others have had similar problems?

Frequently after an endoscopy there is a chance of chest pain from the gas. It is normal for your throat to be sore as they passed a tube down your throat into your stomach. Usually the back hurts because of the positioning of your body and THE GAS!!!. In order to see inside of you they have to put gas and it becomes trapped if you don't belch it out. Try taking Gas X, Tums, Malox. Do not drink anything cold or carbonated. Drink warm tea or water with lemon. If this continues for more than 36 hours I'd call you doctor or go to the ER.
