I am 32 years old.I have been suffering from diarrhea/loose stools for 6 months.I have already posted a question about this but nobody gave me any answer.
last January my diarrhea started in an acute
way with other symptoms:bloating ,nausea,gases...
later i went to hospital.I took some blood tests.Everything was Ok with these blood tests.I took also some stools tests. The doctor said that I had Giardia
.
They then gave me Flagyl 500 for 14 days. After this period, however, diarrhea didn't stop.Yet it was not as severe as before.
In May I did tens of blood tests and stool tests again.EVERYTHING WAS NORMAL WITH THE EXCEPTION OF SOME GIARDIA
OR BROWN-WITH MUCUS-NO BLOOD-WITH PIECES OF UNDIGESTED FOOD SOMETIMES-NO OR VERY LITTLE PAIN IN MY ABDOMEN-I SLEEP NORMALLY-USUALLY MY STOOLS STICK TOGETHER like the stools of newborn
babies.
CAN ANYBODY PLEASE TELL ME WHAT MIGHT THIS BE?
IS THIS SOMETHING SERIOUS?
COULD IT BE THE EFFECTS OF MY ANXIETY BECAUSE I ALWAYS KEEP THINKING ABOUT THIS?
OR COULD IT BE THE EFFECTS OF TAKING ANTIBIOTICS FOR A LONG TIME?
CAN YOU PLEASE HELP ME.HAS ANYBODY EVER EXPERIENCED THE SAME THING?
THANK YOU.
hello, sounds like something is preventing you from digesting properly. You may have a weak immune system to do an underlying condition - sometmes cancer, HIV
, or it could be a parasite (like Giardia) that hasn't fully left your body. There are several other conditions that can cause chronic diarrhea, for example: disorders of the pancreas, intestinal disorderss, food intolerance, etc. Keep up your fluids and electrolytes, drink non acidic juices, gatorade and water. avoid coffee and caffiene. discuss getting other tests on other organs with your dr. because they may be the cause
yeah i'm also thinking you miiiight have still a c. difficile infection after all those antibiotics..and testing for c. difficile is sort of hit and miss...depends on what other antiboitics you took.
you could now have a new allergy to some food or food intolerance like mammo said. Giardia still could be still there..c. difficile is usually suspected after antibiotic use and diareerea...
Honestly I'd go on a suppper bland no diary diet..buy some nice probioitics and follow up with a GI doctor with maybe testing for celiac or maybe another run of flagyl (which is usually given for c. difficile infections) but sounds like you still have a bug or infection going and still going weather it's still giardia or c. difficile.. but another stool study probably wouldn't hurt either to find out if it's still there or gone.
