chron's disease,fistula's

my sister had colitis surgery in Dec. 2010 and has never really recovered from it she developed a fistula that has attached to the skin, very painful with the digestive juices and the fistula never healed.  She is constantly dehydrated and readmitted to the hospital.  She has the reversal where you have and internal pouch and are supposed to be able to go to the bathroom normally but she still has the fistual and sometimes food comes out of it
what can be done so she can lead a normal life???? She is very depressed and has been mostly in the hospital for the past 5 months.  Please help she is at wits end.  Regards Betty

Hi.  So she had a fistula and still had surgery for reversal?  I'm a little confused.  Would you mind telling me where the surgery was done (what city)?
