cirrhosis

is your life span shortened by alcohol related cirrhosis? find it hard to sleep since i stopped drinking so i take a tablet called phenergan,would this be harmful?

It can be, so this is something you should discuss with your doc if you do have this problem. The liver can be a very 'forgiving' organ, so if you've stopped drinking and are doing everything you can to allow the liver to regenerate to the best of its ability, you're taken a good step.

I think only you doc can really tell you whether or not taking specific meds can help or hurt, so you might want to call and ask.
