clarithromycine and diarrhea

I started to use clarithromycine  for bacterial infection. After 2 weeks I started to have burning in the anus, diarrhea, sometimes bloody stool. It is 20 days that I stopped it and  now no burning and no bloody stool but still I have diarrhea. is it possible  to have diarrhea  20 days after stopping it?

Thank you for your comments. I started to have pains in the right and left quadrants. Mainly on the right which radiates back over a large area. can this be due to colon spasms?  The pain type is irregular. Somettimes it is almost zero but sometimes it is mild.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
You seem to be suffering from Pseudomembranous colitis which is overgrowth of Clostridium difficile bacteria caused by antibiotic usage. The symptoms of this condition are abdominal cramps, blood in stools, fever, watery diarrhea etc. The symptoms usually subside after the antibiotic or other medicine causing the condition is stopped. Metronidazole is usually used to treat the disorder and for diarrhea electrolyte solution may be given. Consult a doctor for more queries and assistance. Keep me posted.
Best luck and regards!
