My name is Nicole and I'm from romania, my problem is I've had four years ago flexineri a Shigella infection, and chronic diarrhea when I left, I made many tests and colonoscopy with biopsy sampling, I would like to know if there any treatment to improve the condition of diarrhea.

Coffeeta, has every other type of infection been ruled out after the Shigella cleared? If you were treated with heavy doses of antibiotics, have you considered trying probiotics to try to change around the intestinal flora (bacteria) that could have been skewed with the treatment?

Have you also ruled in or ruled out any foods that may be making the problem worse?

Are you having any other symptoms besides the diarrhea? Rashes? Fever? Anything at all?

I've just got low-dose antibiotic, ciprofalexina mg/12h 500, and took probiotics in general. that we excluded fruits and foods, raw vegetables, and unfortunately I can not really eat the milk. problem here is that we have about exhausted all possible tests and medicines, and after long search, I discovered that the rest shigella.in antigen tests that are out in the normal range VSH/1h - 39mm and fibrinogen 960mg/dl.
