colon fluttering, uncontrollable bowel movements

For 4 years now I've had strong fluttering in my pelvis. This is now constant. I have been diagnosed with nerve pain, probably from  a trapped nerve either in my spine of in adhesions in my pelvis and take Oxycodone for the pain which burns across my entire pelvis and up my spine and a little into the inside of my leg.. I have a partial obstruction of the sigmoid colon. Sigmoidoscopy and barium enema both suggested a loop of bowel trapped in adhesions. but the surgeon didn't want to even discuss the possibility.
Since last Christmas I have had uncontrollable bowel movements first thing on a morning; usually diarrhea between 5 to 10 times until I am empty which leaves me in terrible pain and I often faint. Despite doctors having no idea and just suggesting a fluttering muscle, I know now that the fluttering feeling is peristalsis gone berserk; gas rushes down the colon as soon as I wake up followed by an instant bowel movement. The fluttering continues afterwards. I also have chest tightness, can't cough, sweat profusely  and feel faint. My blood pressure goes all over the place Because of the opiate I take I am often constipated but even with this, still have  the urgent bowel movements within minutes of getting up. I do have Fibromyalgia for over 20 years and have lots of pain in my shoulders and upper back and neck with numbness and tingling down my right arm.
The fluttering feeling and the urgency of getting to a toilet is driving me crazy and often causes panic attacks. I can't stand much more but my GP is stumped and the surgeon just doesn't want to know. My life has completely stopped because of this. If I am lucky enough to be constipated and have to use suppositories I don't get much pain but if I go naturally I am doubled up afterwards for hours and hours.
I'm wondering about some sort of neuropathy causing this or could it be damage or entrapment of the vagus nerve?
Could the adhesions and partial blockage cause this uncontrollable peristalsis?
What would cause the colon to suddenly go out of control and is there anything which can be done about it, even just to stop the fluttering? I did wonder about seratonin problems connected to the Fibromyalgia but doctors here don't seem to know anything about it.
No one can give me any answers and I spend my days in tears. I have asked for a referral to an adhesion specialist but it could be months. I have had abdominal scans to check for an aneurism and MRIs to look for trapped nerves but nothing has showed except the extra long loop of sigmoid colon which is almost closed off. I've seen general surgeons, gastro surgeons, gynaecologists and neuro surgeons and have seen 3 different pain consultants but no one wants to know about the uncontrollable fluttering  and bowel urgency.

This is definitely adhesions. I had a terrible day two days ago with 10 trips to the bathroom; fainted 3 times, agonizing pain in abdomen and low back. The pain continued all yesterday. I coud only take liquids. Today I feel as if I'm on the verge of diarrhea but nothing happens; pain in my back is horrific burning pain as if the bowel has ripped on a nerve and I feel constantly sick. I could only manage half a cracker today before my stomach rebelled. 3 days now and I can't bear any more.

I can sympathize with you! I just recently had surgery for Tethered Spinal Cord Syndrome. The operation destroyed my sphincter nerve along with all the peripheral nerves from my waist down. My neurologist is constantly concerned about my frequent uncontrollable loose stools being cause by hard stool being impacted in my intestine (with the loose stool being what can get around it.) Apparently this is very common with his spina bifida clients.  They did x-rays, but no hard stool was located in my case. So I too have no idea how to deal with my bowel problem.  My neurologist doesn't have clue either. I am a 22 yr. old female and not a day goes by that I don't cry and feel like my life is over. It's hard to put your modesty aside and still not have an answer. I have been afraid to go anywhere since this has happened and I just wanted you to know that you are not alone : )
