is it ok to have a colonoscopy, right after finishing a course of flagyl, for c diff. my dr  ordered one, 2 days after  finishing up with the meds. he's doing this to rule out, other causes of the c diff. i guess primarily ibd.

To my knowledge, finishing a course of Flagyl is not a contraindication to a colonoscopy.

Visualizing the colon during an endoscopy can give a more thorough diagnosis for the symptoms (i.e. diarrhea etc.), and can confirm the diagnosis of C. Diff colitis.

Other things to consider would be infectious colitis or inflammatory bowel disease.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
