congested mucosa in the cecum

had  a colonscopy and the doctor found congested mucosa in the cecum. what does that mean?
Avatar f tn
Mucosa is/means the tissue found within the intestine. So congested mucosa is typically defined as a swelling of the mucosa (tissues) which causes an 'increase' in thickness. When something like that happens it is typically due to some type of inflammatory process. Hopefully the doc took some biopsies and a pathology report will tell you what's going on, if anything.
