constipation, gas, pain in lower right abdomen, unable to eat without pain, previous appendectomy

My boyfriend is going through a medical nightmare right now. He is suffering from a mysterious stomach illness and has lost a lot of weight because of it.
He began about 5 months ago with pain in his lower right abdomen. Originally his doctor thought it was a pulled abdominal wall muscle. He did some physciotherapy and took time off of work to heal. Shorty after he became constipated and has been on and off since (more so on). He was told to change his diet and did so, he ate tonnes of fibre, fruits, vegetables and cut out sugar and soda.
Nothing changed.
He gets the pain in his lower right abdomen more severely after eating (about 2 hours after) and continues to have this pain almost constantly. He says that it feels like "there's something in there". He's also experienced a lot of gas (both burping and flatulence). He's had some blood work done, and a short colonscopy which turned up nothing (no inflammation) as well as a throat scope, also negative.
Currently due to his weight loss he's been admitted to the hosipital (thank God).
As I said, he had an appendectomy about 10 years ago. The doctors are thinking it might be scar tissue, but want to rule out other possibilities before proceeding with an invasive proceedure.
Has anyone experienced this after having an appendectomy? Does this sound like anything you've heard of before?
Thanks

He also complains of feeling "full" all the time and after only eating a small amount of food. He has not lost his appetite, however, but cannot eat because of the pain (reason for the weight loss, most likely).
He's also had a CT Scan, which showed nothing irregular.

Hi,
I am also going through same symptoms. All this started after bloody chronic constipation for a week which was due usage of antibiotics.  From then onwards I am facing severe right side abdomen pain , lot of pressure, constipation which is always there. Not able to bear the pain I am always in bed. Sitting or standing for more than 5 mins makes it worse..please help if you are able to figure out the problem.I tried many doctors they all gave up and all my reports are normal. I quit my job and living a very pathetic painful life there is not even a second I am without pain. all the tests are normal MRI,ct...though MRI of shoulder showed muscle spasms.

Hope he recovers soon and please share any information
