why do I have dark stool even if I don't eat green?

There may be a perfectly innocent explanation for your dark stools but I think you ought to be sure that the "darkness" is not caused by an upper (or maybe lower) G.I. bleeding.  If so, then this is never normal and should be investigated.  Stools containing modified blood are called "melena" and I suggest that you type this into google/yahoo/msn etc to find out more and whether or not you are producing/expelling melena.  There are tests that can determine whether or not your stools contain blood and whether the blood is from a G.I. bleed or from a more minor origin (such as haemhorroids etc)
