dgtr with chronic cough and vomiting

by kaylamom, Aug 30, 2008 02:29PM
my 7 yr old dgtr has been coughing and vomiting at the same time for going on 3 weeks now.  She is asthmatic and has been diagnosed with bronchitis.  nothing is helping the cough is about every 20 min awake or asleep.  The cough started out to occur only at night and it has now moved to all day and all night.  She no longer has any food in her stomach and just violently dry heaves.  She keeps being given antibiotics and thats it.  Please please can someone help me and tell me what steps I should take.  Her x ray shows inflamation (inflammation) in her left lung but her cough is extremely shallow, she has had bronchitis twice before and has never ever had vomiting associated with her cough.  I would greately appreciate someone helping since the multiplel doctors weve seen dismiss as bronchitis.  Thank you

When she was eating, what is she bringing up? If food after she ate, how long after? And was it accompanied with a clear liquid or a yellowy liquid? Is there any indication that she could have any form of acid reflux? Is she also experiencing nausea? Any change in bowel habits?

she brings up some food with clear liquid.  It would depend on when she had a coughing fit it could be minutes after or maybe an hour.  acid reflux is what im thinking too she had it as a baby.  No nausea she only vomits when she coughts.  I dont believe any change with bowel habits she wont tell me.  She does say the top portion of her stomach hurts (shell point to it)
Any insight you can give me will be greatly appreciated.  Thank you very much
