performed - my biopsy reports came back as "mucin secreting adenocarcinoma". I am scheduled for a right hemicolectomy next week. my understanding is the cancer grew from the inside of the appendix
and was just reaching the outer wall in one area. my surgeon states that i should have this done as a preventative measure. I also consulted with an oncologist and he felt this needed to be done and that chemotherapy would not be needed. I need feedback - am I making the right decision? Are there questions I should be asking? It is pretty scary. I appreciate any input. Thanks
I got the same diagnosis 2 weeks ago and just had a hemicolectomy last week. I am going to start heading to oncologists but it looks as though I am being advised to start the HIPEC or Heated Chemo treatment after stripping the lining of the stomach. Is this what you did also. I would love to know your experience as this is a very rare cancer and I don't know anyone who has had it. I hope to hear back from you.
