A few weeks ago I posted about having abdominal pain that came and went. It was in the right side just to the right of the naval moving upward to the rib cage area.I would experience a few days to up to a week of pain and then it would go away as long as a month or so. I had soft and many times unformed B/M's.
I had a colonoscoy and had three polyps removed. The doctor took several biopsys from several different locations within the colon. I have been diagnosed with colitis.
I am on the prescription ASACOL. I was interested if anyone else was on this medication and if it had helped and if they had experienced any side effects?
My doctor never mentioned anything at this time about diet. I go back to him in a month. I first have to have a liver function test the day before I go to him. If there is no problem He seemed to indicate He would increase my dosage. He wanted to start me off on a low dose.
Diet was the first question most folks ask me when I was diagnosed. I would like to know if anyone reading this was put on a special diet after being diagnosed with colitis?
