I am having my gallbadder removed and was wondering what kind of diet should I have after the surgury?
They say to eat "light meals", but what does "light" mean. What kinds of foods?
Should I be on a "light" meal plan leading upto the surgury?
When they found out I needed gallbladder surgery they put me on strict low fat diet....you can search the net for them, there are some good ones. basically I stayed away from all dairy..no red meats, and certainly nothing with sugar, like cookies, cakes, etc. Your doctor should and can also give you a list of foods. It is the "fat" that makes matters worse with gallbladder problems.
After surgery some will say you can eat what you want..but just be careful..I stuck to my low fat diet at first and got bored with eating bland foods..so I started eating again...let's just say I am going back to my low fat diet again! Just because I started getting nauseated. better to be safe and healthy than sorry!
if you other questions pls feel free to ask...and I am sure you will get lots of other answers.
