distended stomach with pain

I recently had a colonoscopy and the camera down  my throat tests done (I'm sorry I can't remember the name of that test) It came back that the esophogus was burned and so is the stomach lining. No ulcers and no cancer. I wasn't given a diagnosis so I don't know what I have other than that. I was put on protonix and had severe side effects from it including loosing 20 lbs in 3 weeks from the vomiting caused by the medication. My Dr. took me off of it and put me on zantac. This has worked very well for 3months, 150mg 2x's a day. All of a sudden I am once again experiencing the same pain, my stomach has swollen by at least 2 inches (from the ribs all the way down to where it can't go any more. It also hurts under the right rib (this is the same pain I experienced before) the pain under the ribs is dull but constant. The gas has become much worse. Instead of diarrhea I now have constipation then after 3-4 days I get diarrhea. I know I should probably go back to the Dr. but I hate complaining. I lived with this pain for 2 years before I went in the first place, I went because it scared me to death, I thought I was having a heart attack because the pain started crushing my chest so I felt like I couldn't breath it went into my jaws up my back and down both arms. Can there possibly be something else going on besides this burned lining and stomach? Should I be concerned and go back?

This discussion is related to persistent stomach pain and frequent bowel movements.

Yes biopsies were done. They came back negative for ulcers and cancer. I didn't get a mention of what it is. I guess I better go back and see if there is a name for this. I go through the VA so we get what we get. Most of the time the care is good though. I'm 47 years old and I hate this pain.

did the dr say anything about Barretts Esophagus?  The colon sound like IBS.  Do you have to go back to the dr?  Did he take Biopisis(misspelled)?  If you are in pain you need to see the dr.
